Steven Haynes of Plano, Texas has an extensive background in law enforcement that has engineered him to be the specialist behind Specialized Risk.

Steven Haynes attended the Newport News Police Academy in Virginia and graduated to become licensed as a sworn commissioned Police Officer in the state of Virgina. Steve served as a commissioned Police OFficer from 1985 until 1993 while still enrolled in the U.S. Navy.

During his time as Police Officer for the state of Virginia, Steven Haynes was required to serve three eight-hour shifts per month, did independent patrol, and had all the rights and responsibilities as a paid Police Officer including carrying a gun, making arrests, and appearing in court. You could say Steven was a beyond an extraordinary Officer as he put his life on the line for free.

In addition to his qualifications as a Police Officer, Steven Haynes has additional secuirty qualifications that make him an expert in his field. Steven served as the Division Officer and Chief Instructor for Navy Basic and Advanced Counter-Terrorism and Combat Shooting Training for over three years while stationed at NWTGLANT. Steven has been acknolwdged as the most knowledgable Counter-Terrorism Expert available to Atlantic fleet units.

Steve founded and is the Managing Director of Specialized Risk Team (Texas DPS-PSB License C18833), a security consulting and investigations company, based in North Texas. Specialized Risk Team performs safety, risk management, emergency management and security consulting services, training, tactical operations/specialized security operations for regional and national clients. Steve Haynes has over 34 years of leadership and executive management experience with the military and law enforcement as well as public and private sector companies. He has published numerous articles related to counter-terrorism and bomb threat management in professional journals and is a highly sought presenter/speaker at regional and national security and risk management conferences.
